Directions (11-15): Study the graph to answer these questions.
An ice-cream company prepares three different flavours Choco Chips, Blueberry and American Nuts. The production of the three flavours over a period of six years has been expressed in the bar graph provided below.
Product of three different flavours of ice-creams Choco Chips, Blueberry and American Nuts by a company over the years.

(a) 2007, decrease
(b) 2008, increase
(c) 2009, decrease
(d) 2010, increase
(e) None of the above

Q12. For which flavour was the average annual production maximum in the given period?
(a) For Choco Chips
(b) For Blueberry
(c) For American Nuts
(d) Both Choco Chips and Blueberry
(e) None of the above

Q13. What is the difference between the average production of flavour Choco Chips in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and the average production of flavour Blueberry in 2008, 2009 and 2010?
(a) 500000
(b) 25000
(c) 240000
(d) 80000
(e) None of the above

Q14. Which year shows the highest production of ice-cream?
(a) 2005
(b) 2007
(c) 2009
(d) 2010
(e) None of the above

Q15. The total production of ice-cream in 2009 is what percent of the total production of ice-cream flavours Blueberry and American Nuts in 2005 and 2007 combined?
(a) 14.50%
(b) 80.25%
(c) 65.12%
(d) 73.80%
(e) None of the above

Solutions

S2. Ans.(c)
Sol. Difference between the runs scored by Australia and England in
Match 1 = 260 - 160 = 100
Match 2 = 330 - 180 = 150
Match 3 = 310 - 230 = 80
Match 4 = 270 - 220 = 50
Match 5 = 300 - 150 = 150
∴ Second lowest difference is in match 3

S3. Ans.(a)
Sol. Total runs scored by India and England in
Match 1 = 320 + 160 = 480
Match 2 = 240 + 180 = 420
Match 3 = 270 + 230 = 500
Match 4 = 190 + 270 = 460
Match 5 = 220 + 300 = 520
∴ Third highest/lowest score is in match 1.

S4. Ans.(d)
Sol. Required ratio = 220 : 260 : 180 = 11 : 13 : 9

S6. Ans.(c)
Sol. From statement II
Number = 6 × 6
But from statement I, it must be divisible by 9.
∴ x = 6 (using divisibility rule of 9)

S7. Ans.(c)
Sol. From statement II
Let digit at unit’s place = x
Then, digit at ten’s place = 2x
From statement I
x + 2x = 6 ⇒ 3x = 6
x = 2
Hence, we can find the number using both the statement together.

S8. Ans.(b)
Sol. The number can be found using only statement II.
Number -3/4 of number = 14
Hence, from this equation we can find the answer.

S10. Ans.(c)
Sol. If digits of the two digit number are x and y
From statement I x - y = 0 …(i)
From statement II x + y = 18 …(ii)
On solving both the equations (i) and (ii), we get
x = 9, y = 9
Thus, the number is 99
Hence the both the statements together are sufficient to answer the question.

S11. Ans.(a)
Sol. The percentage of rise/fall in production of flavour Blueberry over the year

S14. Ans.(b)
Sol. Production of ice-cream in 2005 = 50 + 55 + 45 = 150
Production of ice-cream in 2007 = 55 + 50 + 60 = 165
Production of ice-cream in 2009 = 60 + 50 + 45 = 155
Production of ice-cream in 2010 = 50 + 55 + 40 = 145
So, 2007 has highest production.

S15. Ans.(d)
Sol. Total production of ice-cream in 2009 = 60 + 50 + 45 = 155
Total production of ice-cream flavours Blueberry and American Nuts in 2005 and 2007 combined = 100 + 110 = 210
∴ Required percentage =155/210×100%=73.80%
